Questions people ask after a bad night of rain
Why do my gutters overflow in heavy rain?
Usually one of three things: they are too small for the roof area, there are not enough downspouts, or they have sagged so water pools instead of running. A clog makes all three worse. We check for each one on the quote visit.
Do I really need 6" gutters?
On a steep roof or a long roofline, yes. A 6" gutter carries about forty percent more water than a 5" one, which is the difference between draining a cloudburst and spilling it over the edge. On a small single-storey home, 5" with extra downspouts is often enough.
Can storm-ready gutters go on my existing fascia?
Almost always. Hidden hangers screw into the rafter tails behind the fascia board, so they hold even when the board itself is tired. If the fascia has rot, we replace that section before hanging anything.
How fast can you come out after a storm?
Usually within a day or two. Send the address and a couple of photos and we will tell you whether it is a quick repair or something bigger before anyone drives out.
Will insurance cover storm damage to gutters?
Often, if the damage came from wind, hail or a fallen limb rather than wear. We provide a written assessment with photos that you can send to your adjuster.
